Backend engineer working at the intersection of enterprise systems and modern development.

I'm Matheus Henrique, a backend software engineer based in São Paulo, Brazil. I specialize in Java backend systems, enterprise integrations, and fiscal infrastructure, the kind of work that runs quietly in the background of large organizations, rarely visible but always critical.

Most of my professional work has lived inside regulated environments: tax reform compliance systems (IBS, CBS, IS), SAP integrations, MasterSAF API workflows, and Oracle-based data pipelines. I've built internal tooling that replaced manual processes, debugged production incidents in systems processing thousands of NF-e per day, and contributed to architectural decisions in hybrid environments where legacy and modern systems coexist.

I think good backend engineering is about constraints, correctness, and clarity. The interesting problems are rarely the algorithms. They are the integration boundaries, the data contracts, the edge cases in business logic that only surface in production. I've spent years learning to see those problems early.

Outside of enterprise work, I build modern web interfaces, REST APIs, and lightweight SaaS tools using Next.js, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS. I'm interested in the intersection of excellent engineering and excellent product design: systems that are both technically sound and visually precise.
